Vanderbilt Divinity School is under receivership No one seems to know why
One of the nation’s most prestigious divinity schools has been placed in receivership, leading to speculation that the school might close or change drastically. “After careful consideration, including an independent review, we have placed our Divinity School in receivership as a mechanism for renewal,” a spokesperson for Vanderbilt University said in an email. “Over the next two years we will work to position the school for long-term success, investment and growth.”

South Carolina church to unveil Jesus icon, part of artist’s series along slave trade route
[Episcopal News Service] Calvary Episcopal Church in Charleston, the oldest historically Black parish in the Diocese of South Carolina, on Oct. 10 will unveil and dedicate an icon altarpiece signifying the church’s ongoing work of racial reconciliation, restorative justice and inclusion in a city that once was central to the transatlantic slave trade. The large icon, designed and created by British Jamaican artist Graeme Mortimer Evelyn, will permanently hang with two of the church’s original stained-glass windows indenting into the top center.
